KLINGER Piston Valve 100 years!

The KLINGER piston valve - unique & sold millions of times is celebrating a big anniversary!

100 years with KLINGER piston valves

In the year 1922 – precisely 100 years ago – Richard Klinger constructed the first valve with an elastic, exchangeable sealing system for higher temperature ranges: the KLINGER piston valve.

From 1923 onwards, KLINGER also manufactured shutoff valves with cylindrical pistons as shutoff elements and exchangeable valve ring packages. Over the course of time, the sealing materials have been adapted to the corresponding, applicable industry standards. The tried and proven principle of operation of the sealing system, however, is still the same standard employed today.

The KLINGER piston valve marked the invention of the classic industrial valve and laid the foundation for the pioneering role in piston valve technology.

This was the first valve type sold at BAGGES early in the 1960's, and thus marked the start of BAGGE's activity in the valve market. Today, the sale of valves accounts for a significant part of our turnover.
